Heirloom Cleaning, Restoration, & Preservation
Our Specialty Division will also provide our personal attention and service to your most cherished heirlooms – from the special quilt made by your great-grandmother to that precious hand-made christening gown that was worn not so long ago! We have cleaned and restored a variety of specialty items over the years including one of Eleanor Roosevelt’s dresses, cleaned for the Grayson County Historical Society.
For every heirloom received, we will begin by analyzing the fabric as well as non-fabric components such as buttons and zippers. If improperly handled, buttons can melt and beads can explode during the cleaning process. As cleaning and preservation specialists, we determine your specific cleaning and restoration needs to guard against potential damage and will treat your treasure as if it were our own.
If your desire is to bring your fragile, one-of-a-kind heirloom back to life, let us help! You will be happy you did and amazed at the results. We refer to it as receiving “The HandCraft Touch.”
